This was such a well made show with fabulous acting, and so, it was watchable but not enjoyable because Halston was so unlikeable.
The portrayal of his unrelenting hedonism, vacuous preoccupations and lack of care for genuine relationships, sabotaged any compassion I may have felt, as a viewer, for his childhood experiences explaining his behaviour.
I couldn't invest in this story or the protagonist because he was, for the whole duration of the series, unbearably shallow. If this was a true reflection of the man, why go to the trouble of making such a beautifully produced show about him?
