Sin Tax

This movie failed to hit the mark. It was sloppy storytelling at best. Costner failed to develop main characters throughout a 3 hour long picture. Especially the assumed crush a young girl had on some soldiers, I use a plural because it was unclear to me if she like one or both soldiers as they marched off to fight Indians. Also the relationship between the girls mother and Lt Trent Gephardt was poorly developed. The only thing this movie had going for it was the visual work, I love seeing American landscapes. I gave this film 2 stars for cinematic work only, which was a real shame because I had really been looking forward to this one.

This movie was the worst MCU movie ever made! Action for the most part was good but it was full of long story plot points that dragged on inbetween the action scenes and made the movie about 30min too long. The story was boring to watch and they did nothing to make me feel invested in the characters. There were romantic relationships that failed to make me believe the characters were actually in love. In one relationship a guy says I love you to the female he was interested in (and we just found out he liked her in the scene before) the female then basically says nothing back to him and they make love on a rock in the desert then get married all of which takes place in about 1min... so lame! The script writers and director failed to make the characters likeable, mostly because of the bad story. Because they failed to develop the romance the romantic scene was pointless and just limits their audience because even though it didn't show much parents will be less likey to buy tickets for their kids to see it. They could have developed this movie over 2 or 3 films to make it better instead of rushing it. I hope this isn't an indication of the MCUs future.
