Two besties go out to a remote village in the countryside to solve the riddle of one of the women's ancestry and possibly of her inheritance. When they arrive the whole village is under the spell of a curse they are trying to put an end to and our girls are at the crux. This is a dark, obscure flick. The obscurity is in the village, the people, their history and their motives. More to the point for our heroines is that the villagers' plans are unclear. The two feel that sinistry is afoot but no one will help them. Far from help them they will hurt them.

A little girl is left alone in her city apartment in Mexico when a drug cartel's gang picks up her mom in one of their many raids. She finds she has to join a gang of street urchins because she doesn't even know how to feed herself and the school is closed for the interim due to the shooting that just happened that day. She is thrown into this rough world but has two things going for her. While in school, when all the students have flattened themselves on the floor upon hearing the first reports of the day's gunning in the halls her friend gave her three wishes, that and her dead mother is her new guardian angel, and she's no dainty doily, she has teeth.

The previous versions of this movie left me not expecting much but what a difference a talented director makes. In this story of the man who discovers a way to render himself invisible the tension is kept taut all the way. I was roped in immediately. The cast is spot on – both the casting and acting is great. While the special effects are beautifully fluid they are not overwhelming. A great ride.

A basic B flat movie. Competently made, well-acted, but with a nowhere fast ending. A busy, put-upon college student/waitress is summoned to her brother's apartment by his many frantic calls. Upon arrival at his garret she discovers his cadaver hanging in the closet. BUT moments later he walks through the door. Also there's a big ugmo "art" on the wall that does...what?

This here is a terrible movie. It just keeps getting worse. That last finale type scene with everything in creation exploding is like a second by second countdown to awful. A doctor and his wife have an idyllic life with their little daughter in their glass home by the water. Enter chaos in the form of a kidnapping trio. They take the little girl for ransom and are impressed with themselves because they've done this before, four times to be exact. We know this because they can't shut-up for one second.

Bad. Bad. Very bad. Not one moment of horror. Not even one moment of guignol. Not that I even like grand guignol, but that's how it was advertised, so one came to expect at least that lowest of the low horror style. So - a bad plastic surgeon kills his patients if they threaten to leave him and his circus that he acquired by passively killing the owner, Donald Pleasance, causing this movie to effectively call its own self a liar because it advertised as a grand guignol style horror starring Donald Pleasance. At least it didn't claim Pleasance as the lead.

Magnif. I'll join in with the rest at the Google search page and throw in my All Time Favorite as well. This wonderful flick has so much going for it that it's almost ridiculous, starting with the all-star cast; every one of the girls brings it. My vote for the best thing in this movie is Rosalind Russell. Her blowout upon arrival in Reno is just too good, too funny. She takes a bite out of Paulette Goddard's leg! Both Joan Fontaine and Paulette never looked so beautiful. Each woman is lovingly presented. George Cukor outdid himself. The writing is probably the biggest star in this film, and no wonder, with Anita Loos, F.Scott Fitzgerald and Clare Booth Luce doing the work. Truly the list goes on, what with Adrian designing costumes, this movie is a jewel.

An all-Italian-American couple, i.e. one is Italian-American/one is not, gets married after a whirlwind romance only to come to the tragedy of the groom's murder a scant year after they wed. This is a comedy treatment of a true crime story. Pamela Smart, as a young blond, came upon Winnacunnet High School for "Project Self-Esteem" where she befriended a coupla naifs. Before she was through with them she Esteemed them right into killing her husband, which, in this movie is the yummy Matt Dillion at some of his yummiest. Makes it hard to believe she would actually want to off him, just saying. While this movie has its moments it's kinda flat. It's just sooo 90s. There's not much lush going on. Also there are moments that jar my ability to suspend disbelief. As much as I love Danny Elfman his music fit this movie perfectly because it, too, is a near miss.

A unique take on the familial aspect of vampires. Martin moves in with his cousin who condemns him as a vampire. Martin sort of condemns himself for being a vampire. He tries to come to terms with this belief. This flick has a sort of typical but still great Ouroboros ending.
