I am madly in love with this game. It is far from perfect though. I didn't encounter any major bugs until about 2/3 through the game. Major frame dips, odd aiming (shot does not land where I point), and occasionally my controls would stop working until I entered and left the main menu became a regular occurrence. The ai is below average (frequently make dumb choices and get hung up on rocks, human or freaker), and the physics will sometimes fling me or enemies into the air. And yet I have at least 30 hours into this game. The shooting gets the job done and can be satisfying (especially when fighting hordes), the bike riding is really fun, the loop of scavenging, building, upgrading was really fun for me, and the world is just beautiful to explore. This is also one of the few games where I would occasionally leave my bike behind and just walk to multiple destinations. And this is a totally viable way to play! I got to enjoy the scenery and gathered tons of resources I would have easily missed if I was just zipping by on my bike. In closing, I wish the game had fewer than issues, but I feel like this is almost my dream game. I just want more. More world to explore, bigger hordes to kill, more camps to visit deeper scavenging and crafting mechanics, and more bike parts to tweak and play with. If a game leaves me wanting more like this, they did one hell of a good job.
