Having absolutely loved the original Disney version I was scared that Guy Ritchie and Will Smith were going to ruin what was IMOHO Robin Williams greatest work. What they succeeded in doing was bringing something deeply beloved and polishing it up, (with the help of the original composer Alan Menkin) so when Will Smith belted out the original opening song I felt the movie was in safe hands. I thoroughly reccomend this remake as a little bit of old, a bit of new, with enough magic to make me want to rewatch it again in the future.
