Talk about the biggest let down of the year. The show is filled with so many boring new characters and dull side-plots that it hardly even feels like it’s about the person in the title. You’d think that they’d be extra careful not to mess up a story as grand as Obi-Wan’s experience after the Jedi purge, but then again this is Disney we’re talking. The Leia side plot is abysmal. Flea’s acting made me choke. I get that 10 year olds can be poor decision makers, but they made Leia seem mentally handicapped. It felt like I was watching home alone in space. The score is terrible. Music where there shouldn’t be music. Absolutely none of it pays an ounce of homage to John Williams, because I guess Disney’s new ideas are way better than “yucky old boomer generation Star Wars.” You have absolutely ruined something that was one gold Disney. Hope the toys sell well.

My hopes weren’t exactly high for this game, much like many other games made during the COVID era. The campaign is incredibly underwhelming. I think it’s cool that they gave open world a try, but it just feels like another soulless pit of chore-doing. Kill this guy. Take this base. Unlock this somehow worse variant of the already subpar weapon you are using. It just feels like your average, lazy open world game, with a halo skin. The story was one of the most boring halo narratives I’ve ever had to sit through. I thought that bumping it down from an M to a T rating wouldn’t be such a bad idea, but I was so wrong. Corny lines everywhere. No more badass and intimidating alien languages. Stupid kid-oriented color filter thing going on. Whereas the previous halos had this foreboding and somewhat realistic vibe, in this halo I feel like freaking Buzz Lightyear in his doofy quest to stop evil Zerg. When the campaign ended, I scoffed aloud, “What? That’s it?” It’s like 343 can’t wait for all the stupid Master Chief toys they’re gonna sell at Walmart that Karens previously wouldn’t let their kids buy because “iT rAtEd M.” Current arsenal is boring. Where is the OG plasma rifle? Why does the shotgun feel like a plastic nerf-gun? I could go on and on.
