E Oltheten

The plot line is overly contrived and feels staged. It is hard to get into the movie with such implausible action sequences. As a spoof of heist movies, with a rip of of Raiders of the Lost Ark or even a bit of Romancing the Stone and similar it might work, but I don’t think that’s what they were going for. Much is done to obviously set up cheesy dialog. It doesn’t flow or feel natural like Oceans 11. Ryan Reynolds part could have been played by Will Farrell. If you close your eyes and listen you can feel a Will Farrell style delivery. (Which would have made it clear it was a spoof.) I had to stop at the beginning of the waterfall scene thinking this is just over the top ridiculous. The police pursuits are so broken in with no suspense like you can almost hear the director yell cut. Ok let’s break for 20 minutes. Then shoot the arrival of Interpol. Let’s use a lot of cops and swat and gear so it looks impressive. Even if it’s not believable. In all, mildly entertaining if you unplug your brain.
