I'd specifically like to declare I did not appreciate the feminism nor emasculation present in this film at all! Tim becomes a "stay-at-home-dad" (sad that that's what they amounted Tim to), they hammer this statement: and I quote that the wife is the "breadwinner" of the house, Rosy the Rivtor World War II propaganda poster, Tim and Ted who are obviously males are shown in baby girls clothing, comments like "men, am I right" as jokes...(sigh)...there is more in this department but this type of subtlety disturbs me and I don't want to think about it anymore. Not so subliminal political messages with a clear agenda ruined the potential for a wholesome, fun and light movie. Inferred that this was one of those film series that didn't do that cause it's too silly and family focused...guess it does indeed...do "that". Mind you, boss baby one and even the show back in buisness which I actually love didn't ever push any of these messages so aggressively. It was just fun. Ugh..total HollyWEIRD moment.
That aside on a positive note, the babies were chubby and cute and I love the animation that made them look like little chunko-babies buttt...there wasn't enough of them. C'mon it's boss baby, where are all the babies?! It was barely baby oriented and to be honest so much was just not explained! The main characters were mostly kids with less than pleasant to look at character designs. Hmph, I wanted to see babies...The first one was better. This while crazy, was somehow devoid of creativity and just bland...Also, I'm still pressed about those weird political thingies! Thought this would be a movie I could watch where I wouldn't have to think about the crazy backwards messages being shoved into our faces today and instead it would be just adorable babies, but nope! I was disappointed in both of those areas...precious the pony was funny though!
I'm a big fan of the boss baby. Movie and show. I know, know that entire first movie of adorableness and I adore the creative charm of the Netflix original that honestly, has heart, is baby oriented and includes a little bit of lore! Now, as a boss baby enjoyer, I noticed at the end of boss baby that it showed a fully grown Tim along with Tabitha and Tina. They were both clearly white and not mixed by any stretch of the imagination. That's literally in the first film can't take it back. In boss baby 2 they are suddenly mixed and Tina looks wayyy different (cute but wayyy different, love that lil tooth). This was clearly a move made just for diversity for the sake of diversity. Which is inconsistent to the first film and kinda offensive to think they have to be mixed cause they just have to be. As if that actually improves on anything! You know, adding minorities into a film doesn't make you brave, woke, accepting or better morally. On the contrary, it does look weird and even bad when you force it in for...whatever reason. As a minority myself it's hard to explain but it's just weird! There isn't anything wrong with them being white, we are all people here. Let them be white!
Final complaint. Jimbo and Stacy are together...why?
