First of all, David Selim’s review is that of a total ❄️ and a troll. If you can’t handle this movie with its “loud noises” and emotional provocativity, then what the hell are you doing in a movie theater at all? The teenagers in the lobby/arcade should’ve scared you away long before the movie did.
Second, I loved hearing songs from the original movie and resurrecting the feelings I felt for Dumbo when I first watched him fly. Newsflash - in these live action movies, the animals do not speak, but they do communicate. You can easily pick that up if you pay attention. I have to admit that I had very high expectations for this movie. It was cute but it did fall a little flat, and a bit dark - Tim Burton-esque, which I can certainly do without, however, it was in every aspect a PG movie and appropriate for all ages. I do love the idea of remaking these Disney films in this format. I think they only get better from here and I am looking forward to the next one.
