I find this film to be beautifully haunting. The characters are tragic, of course, but they are compelling and I am drawn back to this film fairly often. The feeling of the cinematography & settings are perfectly "cast" in the telling of this disturbing story. It is rather melancholy, but it definitely tugs at the heartstrings and makes me want to help them - somehow. The cast is wonderful.
