This game is amazing! It's been years since I have found a game I've been so into. The RPG aspect of the character building is fantastic and detailed. The strategy aspect of the game, allowing you to build a clan and ultimately a kingdom is top tier. The combat is hard to get used to but I suggest running in tournaments at the start as often as possible, not only to build renown and get items that are worthy of using or selling, but also to get the tough combat mechanics down. The grand battles are epic! Great game. So much fun. Play it!

Unfortunately the wait for another Thomas Harris book was not worth it. Despite the attempts to tell a story of a sociopath, a strong female lead, and the inevitable lust for her demise, the story fell flat with what seemed like rushed character arcs and a lack of a villain worth buying into. The Hannibal Lecter character may have been so great that all others fall short, but I am disappointed in how this story was far from captivating. I look forward to a more rewarding experience in future Thomas Harris novels.
