KANTARA REVIEW: A RISHAB SHETTY'S DYNAMITE WHICH IS BEYOND THE EXPECTATIONS (My Review)
Kantara Review: Kantara is a highly anticipated Kannada language film starring Rishab Shetty, Saptami Gowda, Achyuth Kumar & Pramod Shetty, released today in theatres worldwide.
The story begins in the 18th century, where a king gives land to the tribals in exchange for peace, prosperity & joy. But the descendants of the king threaten the villagers to return the land during Bhoota Kola. Kantara (Mysterious Land), where the film is set. After twenty years, forest officer Murali (Kishore), tries to put an end to the 'unscientific rituals' of the forest-dwellers, to save the forest. But, hot tempered Kaadubettu Shiva (Rishab Shetty) who believes that the forest is not in any type of danger and so there's no need to save it. Even their intentions are the same but their ways aren't. And this turns out to be as heated arguments and fights between them. Shiva who is a ruffian falls for Leela (Saptami Gowda). But, what is the story of Kantara about? Too many questions, right? To find that, you have to watch it in theatres.
The film somehow, lets you remember some of Lijo Jose Pelliserry's films like 'Angamaly Diaries' & 'Jallikattu'. Writing & Narration in this film is brilliant. Shiva's mother Kamala is one radical, she's the most foul-mouthed in this film. The film is full of cuss words.
The last 20 minutes of this film is such extraordinarily choreographed and shot that'll blow your mind. Both, first and second half of this film are engaging. Rishab Shetty did a riveting job in the film.
Music in this film is so amazing, Ajaneesh Loknath puts an evocative blend in this film. As my favourite from this film is 'Singara Penne'.
Overall, Kantara is a must and must watch film which no one should miss at any cost. This film is highly recommended as you can only experience it in theatres only.
