If you like James Patterson, please save your money and spend it on Alex Cross or other real James Patterson books. It is very difficult to imagine the James Patterson who wrote those fine stories having even glanced at this book. While the plot lines and characters connect the three stories superficially, there is not enough depth to either plot or character to hold any of the three tales together individually, let alone connect them. The characters lack any consistency or plausibility except for Mitchum's mom. A character can behave inconsistently if the author eventually explains the inconsistencies, but none of these characters have any discernible character that allows the reader to know them. As for plot, I can deal with one Deus ex Machina per novel, but that seemed to be the only way that Mitchum ever got out of trouble. Save your money and buy books actually written by or at least seen by Patterson.
