Dispite it's rushed script and down right cheesy ending, this movie is wall to wall monster action and suspense. Many godzilla movies were just meant for goofs, entertaining kiju fights, and sometimes (like the very original) sends a dark political message. If you r just looking for some good kiju violence like in final wars, but with killer CGI this time, you will love this movie. If you want a well thought script, go gojira, VS mothra, VS mechagodzilla, G.M.A.O.A. The film offers plenty of action with enough breaktime to get some popcorn and other refreshments.
Also, if you r hoping for original godzilla references like mothra's song, and other old clichés. You will be very pleased. The CGI effects really enhanced the original character of these monsters. This is also the first American godzilla to include the main title music.
Overall, you have to kind of take it for what it is. It's a godzilla movie we're the human character we're plotted around the titans rather than the titan around the human characters. They pulled a lot of stuff out from the originals but with better effects.
