Can not call this a Christian film. Literally no lessons were taught, and no themes were explored. You will probably cry at what a terrible and shallow representation of religion that this movie was. They sing songs with the word "God" in it and pretend that it actually has anything to do with the plot. (It does not. Literally 0%). It focuses nearly entirely on fooling around and getting girls. This movie had ONE good scene where they sang a song actually praising God. This nearly two hour "Christian" movie had ONE SCENE PRAISING GOD. ONE. And even then, it had no plot relevance at all. Jesus wasn't mentioned once. Nobody referred to the Bible (saying two out of context verses without even citing the verse does not count). Nobody talked about salvation or the Gospel or even God's forgiveness (despite the main character's defining trait being that he was a troubled guy who did crimes??). There were a grand total of 0 prayers said. This movie put having fun and romantic partners over honoring God. The complete irrelevance God has in this movie makes me really wonder why they didn't just make this a secular camp.
Even if you ignored the blatant misrepresentation of Christianity, it is cliché and forced. The conflicts are boring and hastily resolved without any semblance of development or importance. The characters are one dimensional, and I see more chemistry on my undone science homework then in the main characters' romance. (Btw, basically the entire movie is focused on their romance. And they couldn't even make THAT good.) I'm writing this review in hopes that this suffering I endured can save someone else from the same fate.
Would give 0 stars if I was allowed.
