Saw this movie at the Atlas Theater in Washington, DC when I was 14 years old. I enjoyed seeing actors who looked like me on the silver screen. Back then I didn't understand the anger of Ivan Dixon's character, "Duff". As I grew older I understood the fierceness of his desire to be respected as a father, a husband and a grown man in an age when a black man struggled to stay alive.
