If you were born after the 1980's this film would be slow paced for you, but for those born in the late 1940's this film of the 1950's is more interesting today, then it was when I first seen it aged 12, with many moral issues that were relevant then & now, the issue of "yes men" in upper management, the past coming back to confront the survivor of war, PTSD before it had that description, and the many other aspects of how people lived in middle class America at that time, as set out in the book & Hollywoods screen interpretation with its then impressive widescreen & stereophonic sound presentation. It could be said this film was made to entertain, but also to make you think.
