It was a weird movie. It really didn't teach you about Padre Pio's life and left a lot of the fascinating details of St. Pio's life out of the film. It brought up the socialism of the time but, in my opinion, it overemphasized it to the distraction of the saint's life. It is rated R because the filmmakers did utilize nudity in some scenes to convey the battles Pio had with demons. Sadly, the filmmakers used those scenes in a gratuitous manner which were totally unnecessary in my opinion. Shia LeBouf portrayed a very devout and holy priest with a lot of reverence. I was impressed with his acting in this movie but i wish he had a better script that truly flushed out the storyline of this Saint. I just was so disappointed that the movie didn't deelve deeper into Padre Pio's life but ended the movie after he recived the stigmata.
