Basically, this is the closest thing to a testosterone-charged rom-com I've seen, sweet and hopeful. But also wrapped in the fist foil and martyrdom of hockey glory that any hockey fan will eat up like poutine.
Sean William Scott is Doug Glatt, who makes the unlikely jump from checking IDs and beating up deadbeat bar patrons, until he miraculously gets snapped up by the local 3rd rate minor hockey club.
The locker room is full of really memorable, flawed, hilarious characters, and Doug's unflappable heart of gold (and head of straw) wins them over in spite of his almost complete lack of skating skill.
To end, if you like the idea of seeing a funny Rocky on skates with the same feeling of standing up and cheering during the intense moments, this will grow on you.
