Fast-paced but honest, AotD neatly drew to a close this epoch of Dethklock. Every major and minor protagonist still living in the Metalverse makes face and is welcome fan service. Neither complicated nor convoluted, the movie rapidly picks up where Requiem left off and brings you to a resolved conclusion. Interesting betrayals evolve on both sides, and even bring back bold references from the first episodes of the series. I confess a tear was brought to my eye when it became clear that the Loudest-and-Brightest message of the movie was to us, the fans, directly. A message of gratitude and love, humility and humanity. Brandon Small brought it home🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🖤

Not really sure where to begin this review. Gaiman's source material was a whodunit wrapped up in a great comic drama, and a great cosmic drama. This was neither of those things, with an odd third story shoehorned in. I suppose it's fair to say there's the makings of a fourth storyline, as well, since it's no secret that the Black Knight is being introduced. It was too much. This isn't brand fatigue, and there was no miscasting; this is just a script that had too much going on and not enough energy in any one of its many threads. Pacing was very good, as was the chemistry between the main cast as well as their extended families. Just one big eternal MEH for me.
