Wonderful for the character development, accurate representation of gender and sexuality perceptions in the 1970s, and no forced narrative arc. Artfully explores the problems when law enforcement, criminal research and politics clash, represents multiple perspectives without judgements. Particularly meaningful are the side-stories that resonate with the crimes the main characters are examining. Very well conceived.
