Seán “Night-Seeker” Cleary

While I am a 2000's - 2010's kid, I really like old films, they have a sort of charm to them that you will sometimes see today, even in last year's Bad Boys For Life. This movie shows off why I love old action-comedy. It's Michael Bay and it's the 90's, so of course this movie is going to have offensive jokes. Man, do these jokes have some charm to them, especially with our protagonists, Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, who we all know as Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Why? Because Will and Martin carry these roles. I think without these two, the characters would not be as enjoyable. The score by Mark Mancina is epic and well made. The action is fast, explosive and gory, so of course it entertains me. I may not have grown up with this movie, but damn it is amazing.

I think this movie was okay. It isn't Hitman: Agent 47, but it isn't Sonic The Hedgehog. I think it's a competent DC animated movie, but a bad adaptation of Batman Arkham Asylum. I'll explain why I feel mixed about this movie. Starting with the good. The voice acting is GREAT. Every DC animated movie has awesome voicework. If you've heard Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, you've heard Assault on Arkham. Arkham Island and the characters that appear in the games were faithfully animated. The Suicide Squad were also interesting, but they are also why I think the movie falls into the videogame movie curse: They are the main characters. Not part of the main cast, they are the main attraction. The plot is that Amanda Waller gives the Suicide Squad the mission to kill the Riddler, which changes his role as a side quest, but because of the focus on THAT story, the whole Arkham takeover is sloppily shoved into the 3rd act. I like the callbacks to the Detective Mode and Explosive Gel, but I really was expecting a Batman Arkham Asylum movie, with the Suicide Squad, although TheMetalBlade5 said it was a Suicide Squad movie. Although I have a love/hate relationship with Batman: Assault on Arkham, I would recommend you go watch it, it's really fun. Though don't expect a full-on Arkham Asylum movie.

Justice League Dark: Apokolips War is probably the best DC animated film. It had clever writing, great characters, a heartbreaking story and it's overall a great ending to the DCAMU.

I quite liked the movie. It was fun, the characters were memorable, it made me chuckle, and Bumblebee and Optimus are still cool.

No longer taking place in the USA, Tak3n is about Bryan Mills on the run from the police after being framed for the murder of his ex-wife, Lenore. Jimmy is recasted and played by Jonny Weston and Stuart is recast too, being played now by Dougray Scott. This movie is really good as it has good action, good suspense, emotional scenes and still has likeable characters. People may think this is the worst of the three, but I love them all. I am yet to watch the TV series but I will watch it someday.

I love this film. It still has that Taken charm and brings something new with the problems between Stuart and Lenore, Kin getting a boyfriend, Marco's dad seeking revenge and Bryan & Kim working together to save Lenore. It still has the camera work the first one had and Bryan using his CIA skills during fight scenes.

This movie makes no sense at all. First the guy is only fighting to help the girl, then he fights because he gets angry. The brother comes in and asks to watch porn with the girl, then later he calls her weird. The characters aren't even characters either.

This movie amazed me. Yes, it had non-stealth action scenes, but it has an explanation for it, while the Rupert Friend Agent 47 version just jumps out and does John Wick stunts (no, seriously, he does actions from John Wick) for no reason. On the phone with Diana, it's revealed that his location was found and that he had to escape. Of course, he leaves no witnesses...well, two witnesses. Still, the story was good, Timothy Olyphant will always be the best live-action Agent 47 and I even like the romance subplot.

Comedy, character, drama, action, change, everything a movie needs, Gary and Andy's friendship is a real reverse of the traditional Simon Pegg Nick Frost dynamic, and it works.
