Enjoyable but, could probably trigger some of the logical machine folks out there. Beautiful scenery as their background, smart choice of casts, and an original story. At first, I was drawn to it by the short description of the whole series. A post-apocalyptic world where people somehow lose the ability to see. I was expecting a lot of differences in its culture and society than the usual post-apocalyptic/dawn of men story. Yes, I can see how a lot of things are different, but some details missed their spot and make me questioned their thoroughness in research about people who are born blind. The main story depends too much on Jason Momoa being the hero to save the day in every bad situation. And the development of the royal blood story grew strained towards the first season ending. But all in all it offers a promising entertainment to enjoy if you are willing to ignore the prickling sensation on your logic once in a while.

I think it's a good movie to learn more about what family means in the first place. Not everyone's problems are the same, not every foster kids problems could be solved like this it may need another way. But it can, make people think about family and love. And even though I think some of the scenes are obviously cringy and too cheesy, it is after all for a good reason. I give this 8/10. And hope all the homeless parentless kids out there could find a forever home.

I personally loved it! It's playing jump rope between the line of a "profoundly giving an impact to society movie" and the usual "we all know how it'd end" Christmas themed movie. I cried clutching my own heart thinking about signing myself up for an organ donation. Tho it's scary to think about the possibility that we all might suddenly stop breathing in our younger days. Probably the critics were so harsh because of their "cheap" attempt to use Game Of Thrones and Crazy Rich Asian fame to boost the movie.
