I got this game in 2018 during Para Bellum and played till Wind Bastion before taking a 1 yr hiatus and returning during Shadow Legacy. These are some of my thoughts.
1) One of the steepest learning curves i have ever had. Think of it as the Dark Souls of tactical shooters. I only got my first kill (Lesion on 3F Casino in Yacht) about 4 hrs into the game but the feeling of getting that is totally indescribable. This is a very challenging but very fair game. You will get rewarded for the hours you put in.
2) The maps may be the same but somehow never gets boring and it always encourages you to think of and try new strats. The number of strats you can use with one operator is just insane and this is not even taking into account the considerations you take in with regards to the enemy teams composition.
3) Pulling off a 1 Vs 5 clutch literally leaves me shaking all over and catching my breath.
4) Some friends and a headset with a mic goes an extremely long way.
Now some not so happy stuff. More about the community rather than the game in general:
i remember coming in during para bellum in 2018 and being total trash but i met many people who were willing to help me and be patient with me. This was what made me fall in love with the game and made me want to stay on in the first place. Sadly in 2020 thats no longer the case, i feel the level of toxicity has increased exponentially and this is coming from an experienced player like myself. The number of times i have received verbal abuse (in casual) is really not funny. i can only imagine how a newbie feels. And i haven even started about the griefing.
All in all, this is still one of the best and most rewarding games you can get on the market today. I just hope that the more experienced players in the community can help to take the lead in guiding newer players so that we can foster a better community like the one we had in 2018 rather than the degraded state it is in now.
