Cheesy, somewhat predictable, and a bit long, but beneath the silly mayhem lies a deep well thought-out story of revenge and redemption. Highly recommended!

Predictable to a large degree, but intense and thrilling enough to make you want to hold your breath. A good and solid horror-thriller.

Sigh........... OK, so how do I say this diplomatically and whilst being as emotionally restrained as possible. First of all, hats off to Pier Paolo Pasolini. The man, as we all are aware, was well and truly a genius. He made some of the finest films ever known to man, won numerous well-deserved awards, and gave us insight into many different aspects of life and human nature that it would not be easy to come by in many directors. He will always be remembered and celebrated for that. May his legacy live on! Secondly, I think somewhere along his career path, in the midst of all his success, he became deeply troubled emotionally and mentally by the direction he believed humanity had gone and always will go. And it was during this very bad phase of his life that he took the liberty of his success as a director to give us a concise, clear, vivid, detailed, and necessarily and understandably graphic portrayal of the true meaning of EVIL. Surely there’d be no better man to have shown such a thing as Pasolini! Thirdly, I think it’s safe to say that Pasolini took this vivid portrayal to a bit of a poisonous level. I mean, I could understand many of these horrendous acts being inflicted by fascists on innocent children, but when the adults themselves get involved (i.e. junk consumption........) , that’s where it’s kinda hard to take it seriously and wonder the exact mental state of Pasolini at the time of filming. Fourthly, it’s even more hard to comprehend how he managed not only to pull such a movie off, but also to get young underage actors to perform such acts as well. I have questioned their sanity also. Finally, I guess what I’m trying to say is, don’t get me wrong, this movie well and truly has a point to make about fascism/human cruelty, and Pasolini’s beautiful artsy style couldn’t be much better and more obvious, but several reviewers have said this, and I quote-all in all this movie is really just a troubled Pasolini challenging his viewers to an endurance contest to see if they can make it through the entire film to the very dying moments without........ vomiting. Do not recommend. You’re welcome!

A hard-hitting view of British socialism, if a little slow on occasion. Well worth a watch.

A rather excellent film depicting what it feels like to want to be in a different body from a rather young age. It was pretty harrowing all round, and at times, a bit of a hard watch in terms of the child and maintaining a steady relationship with her Bipolar dad, and disrespectful mom. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because at times the flashbacks got a bit confusing- it took me a while to figure out wether or not I was watching something in the “now” or something that happened prior to the child being taken by her father. That said though, Anna Kerrigan comes across as a brilliant director, and I very much look forward to seeing what work she churns out down the line.

Apparently this film relates to the Jewish community somehow. I didn’t quite pick up on it. Being a born and raised Catholic, I’ve definitely seen more entertaining supernatural flicks in my time. But then again, I’ve also seen worse. Well-made, brilliantly acted it must be said. Will keep an eye on what Keith Thomas does down the line.

One of Netflix’s greatest modern supernatural masterpieces. The visuals are simply to die for!

Definitely far from Daniel Craig’s best performance as 007, and draws a lot of predictable moments and stunts from previous Bond films, and maybe felt a tad long, but nonetheless, coming on the heels of Skyfall, a highly recommended Bond film that doesn’t deserve all the backlash it gets.

A Christmas Rom-Com apparently based upon a book which I myself have not read, and having seen the movie, despite impeccable performances from a contemporary cast and a sneaky Joan Cusack , it’s the type of movie I really would only be able to recommend if you had your partner snuggled up in a blanket beside you on the couch at Christmas. Not that there’s anything wrong with that mind you.....

Definitely not the best “whodunit” mystery/thriller by a long mile, a lot of repeated twists and turns that’s a little hard to follow at times, but for the most part , you get the general idea of what the lead female character who is revisiting and trying to uncover this traumatic child mystery is discovering, even if it get’s a little muddled in coherence. Nice and unexpected ending too. Standout performances from all the main characters, especially David Cronenberg, and interesting soundtrack, to say the least. Worth a watch for the most part!
