extremely frustrating how they present the Nurse practitioner. a little annoyed that her scrubs say BSN, N.P. which is not a thing you can't be an NP with only a BSN degree, a masters or doctorate is a requirement to be eligible for board certification. To add to the role confusion they have the NP practicing as a bedside nurse accepting orders from the doctors and carrying them out as a opposed to being the ordering provider. All of this only further leads to the media driven role confusion when it comes to the nursing profession on all levels from LPN to APRN. My hope for the future of television is that the media will spend the time to understand and more accurately represent medical professionals and there roles.
