This is definitely an experimental album for the band as around half of the songs deviates quite a bit from the sound of the previous two albums, however there are still songs that would likely appeal to older fans such as Alligator, Wild Roses, Vulture Vulture, etc.
Personally I enjoy the variety on the album as it is all still as catchy and emotional, while maintaining the bands signature of lyrics that hold the hint of meaning if requiring one to create a conspiracy theory esk board in their home in order to decipher it.
All in all I'd recommend this album as (forgive me for not putting this in the correct musical or specific terms as the words elude me at this time) if you enjoy upbeat and relaxing music there are songs for both on here.
