Gem of a film by Geethu Mohandas. A director with this film is among the ones that Malayalam Cinema had longed to realize. A multilingual film which in itself is the essence without which the whole effort would have become futile. Its so enthralling to see Nivin Pauly step out of his comfort zone to pull off something substantial to his career. And again a big hurray to the director to have portrayed a homosexual romance beautifully on screen it's something one wouldn't dare, even the pseudo liberal posers who does nothing than brag themselves. It's such a big step concerning Malayalam Cinema. Not one of the cast to complain, even the ones with least screen space, Shashank Arora as the invincible ally or Sobhitha Dhulipala as Rosy. Sujith Shankar is a revelation for a character preferred least by the contemporaries. The director seemed to have inspired the cast a lot that Roshan Mathew who had performed below average on screen in his films until now had improved a lot and it's commendable. Scenes in the slum might have been constructed with the help of the auteur Anurag Kashyap who also penned Hindi dialogues for the film and also partly behind the finance of the movie. Signature frames and quirky cinematography of Rajeev Ravi is spread all over the film. It was high time for Nivin Pauly to step out of his familiar shoes and feel unseen earth and this seems to have given him that. It feels good to summarize that something's always new in bag when it comes to Malayalam cinema of our age.
