I was a little conflicted because I think BA Paris is a wonderful writer but this was more along the lines of a good book versus her first novel behind closed doors which was absolutely fabulous! Her first novel behind closed doors was totally gripping and had me to the point where I could never put it down. So I immediately wanted to read another book by her. I really enjoyed The breakdown although I thought it was a bit predictable. I called it almost from the beginning that it’s probably her husband and the best friend that have gotten together. And then there were the series of reading the text messages that became a little annoying although I understand why she did it that way. It was just a bit long for me. A little draggy. I think it was good but didn’t rise to the level of Behind Closed Doors. I know I should not be comparing them but it’s hard not to compare them. Please keep writing great psychological thrillers B.A. Paris!
