One star because I couldn't give none. This is woke academia at it's worst. My teenage son tried to read this - it is contradictory and relies on massive assumptions to blame the US and S. Korea (mainly the US) for N. Korea invading the South and all the resulting issues. I read the intro and tried to read the first chapter before I had to stop reading this garbage. He tried to blame S. Korea for starting the war in a small remote area - but N. Korea had fully mobilized on the border and launched a full invasion. Any serious academic would know it takes months if not years to prepare a full scale invasion. The N. Koreans most likely started the small conflict but regardless used it as a pretext for a massive invasion that was pre-planned well in advance. Was the US and S. Korea exempt from war crimes? I am sure not. But the one sided approach fails basic critical thinking skills. Both sides I am sure committed atrocities - war is ugly but to blame the modern police state and ignore all the tens of millions slaughtered by communists is mind numbingly stupid. No stars, do not pass go, it is a shame this myopic mental midget is teaching anything, anywhere to anyone.
