This has to be one of the best stories I've read hands down. I love how Murakami uses metaphors, symbols, and inferences in the book, especially how he juxtaposes the hollow metallic satellites circling the earth in space to human souls.
*spoiler alert* My favorite part In the novel is where K explains the loneliness felt by humans by using the example of how satellites bound by gravity cross each other with their hollow bodies without saying a word, never to meet again, but then Sumire finds her way back to K; strangely. It's like there was some mysterious force much like gravity that could never keep Sumire away from K, that pulled her right where she belonged the most.
