Kell

Lovely film with some questionable choices but an overall enjoyable experience that I would sit through again. The kid actors do a good job with what they're given and the cinematography is low-key beautiful. The color grading could be better but some of the shots in this film are magical. The kid in me was very excited to see these elements live action. They take a central theme from the original animated film and really run with it, giving new life and backgrounds to these characters we love. It's more heartstring tugging than you might expect. Give it a watch without going in biased and you might find a bit of that same magic.

This movie is a joy. I did find myself zoning out at parts, not because it was particularly boring (because it's very much not!) but it is sometimes cliché. That said, it will certainly make you smile and it, surprisingly, hits you in feels you wouldn't exactly expect. Is it perfect? Nah, of course not. But if you want a nice popcorn flick with likable actors and cool visual effects then don't pass this one up.

Freaky has some laugh out loud moments for sure and a good amount of gore to appease any slasher fan. The issue comes from the pacing, the stereotypical characters, poor dialogue and the unnecessarily explicit sexual references and humor sprinkled throughout. I understand it's a film that doesn't take itself too seriously but wow, I'm very glad I opted not to watch this one with family.

It was cringey and really long. Lin’s weird accent threw me off, and even though Emily Blunt did a good job as Mary Poppins and there were tons of visual effects, it still lacked charm. I watched it on Netflix and was pretty bored, I ended up skipping 10 sec every now and then.

I knew nothing about this film before deciding to watch it. It was the first thing to pop up on Hulu and I didn't want my food to get cold so I hit play. It's a short, nonsensical, weekend night type of flick to enjoy when you don't feel like being very serious. John Cena and Rel are always a joy to watch. I thought the overall casting was great, even though some of the jokes landed flat. Don't expect any laugh til you cry moments, but definitely a few chuckles here and there. Some parts felt slow to me and it lacked depth but that's just the kind of movie it is.

It's a charming movie, just like the first Boss Baby. However, it's a bit messy and might be more confusing to keep up with for kids. The first Boss Baby gave me more feels and left me with more of a lasting impression than this one did but I would still recommend watching. The highlight of the Boss Baby series is the dynamic between the brothers, but they do a good job of making the daughters likable characters as well. There are some funny moments, it's not too long, and the animation is splendid! Just give it a watch, esp. if you've seen the first film.

IT IS SERIOUSLY SO BAD. Listen to this review, ok. I only gave it 2 stars because me and my family had a good time laughing throughout the entire film. The killers aren’t menacing, the victims are stupid, and the suspense drags on forever without any satisfaction. If you’re looking for something scary or a good thriller (or a well written film in general tbh) THIS IS NOT IT. Pass on this.
