The "subtleties" did not go over my head. I know exactly what the message was. I just don't understand how Julia Garner's character would STAY in this position even after that verbal abuse over the phone. Where do people learn (or even accept) that it is okay for ANYONE to talk to you like that? This movie is saying that our job industries are filled with people who accept this behavior for the sole purpose of advancing their careers. I hope people are smarter than this in real life.

I went in not knowing what to expect and I think that paid off. Pretty sure I'm not the only person who remembers the memes that came from Daniel Radcliffe's outfit with his slippers! It's a fun ride, if you're in for it without digging too deep. There is a not so subtle message about violence in our society + online consumption. I thought the script was pretty funny and I liked how Samara Weaving wasn't wearing heels and a tight outfit. I feel like if this was any other movie we'd see that variation in one or another. I would recommend this to a friend who has enjoyed anything comic/video game related.
