I can't recall a time when I've been so disappointed with the subsequent episodes after having been so impressed by the initial two episodes, if ever there was a show that clearly padded out it's running length it is this one.
The performances of the children in the first episode were truly incredible, the story maintained its interest throughout the first two episodes, however all of the third episode and the first half of the fourth episode were completely pointless. Why this show was ever split into four parts is beyond me, the first two episodes with the last half of the final episode would've made for a fantastic film.
The high reviews are clearly obfuscated by the sensitivity of the subject material; it’s great in parts, TBH if you just watch the first part you well see the best of it.
