Probably my favorite TV series of all time with the possible exception of Breaking Bad. Shared it with my brother who is a German cultural history professor specializing in the Weimer Republic. He and his colleagues watched and were less enthused because of some details only damn academics would recognize! I liked it so much that I decided to read the book upon which it was based which was a disappointment. A rare case when an adaptation greatly improved on the original.
