There is something about Danish spirituality that is profound and attractive. The film reminded me of Babbette's feast which tackles similar themes of missed opportunities and renunciation told with great sensitivity.

Excellent thrilling first season. The second one has its merits but was overall too depressing without redeeming experiences. Some of the supposed plot holes reviewers have mentioned are not such. Maybe something got lost in translation. For ex. Jacub found Sylvies home in brussels because she had told him she lived above a mongollian kosher butcher and there is just one. The characters and dialogue are well developed.

A disappointing fifth season. Although the acting remains excellent, the continuity of the characters seems lost, especially prince Philip and also Charles. Philip became too mellow and lost his characteristic sharpness and wit. The detours into the Romanov history and al Fayed's history seem out of place.
