beautiful graphics, incredibly fun swordplay, changing stances and everything is especially fun, but those things are really the only good things about the game in my opinion. I really do think the world is beautiful. BUT the game is just not very fun. Almost all missions are you searching for something really mundane and pressing r2 next to it, and almost all missions require you to follow tracks or do effing trailing missions! Why are we still doing trailing missions!!! They are NOT FUN. I've done way too many trailing/tracking mission in the first 1/3 of the game. There isnt even good mechanics behind that part of the game too so its extra boring. I also hate the contant cutscenes, the cutscenes and facial animations are really no where near good enough to be worth watching when they pop up that often. Another thing I really don't like is how easy the game is, i started the game on hard and its like normal or easy on most other games. One thing I do love is how they tried to emphasise immersion, which is wonderful, but everytime you do a standoff the immersion is destroyed with a big fat fade to black cutscene that you have to watch everytime for a few seconds. And you do standoffs with every encounter in the game pretty much. And the last thing I have to say is this game has the worst mechanic I've seen in a game and that's right, its the Fox Dens. Good god they are annoying and sooo boring. Maybe it could be fun if they implemented it in a different way but whatever they just suck, and there are sooo many of them. They are just little trailing missions, seems lazy and kind of like some kind of satirical joke to put in a AAA game like this. Its weird, you'd think the game has a great flow and smooth gameplay but all these things ruin it, i think the gameplay has a terrible flow aside from the sword fights because of these things. After this game I've decided to take a break from gaming whilst I finish my degree because I just feel like games are just not gonna be on the level for a while. Developers clearly still have a lot of innovations to make and bad old habits to absolve. Games should be absolutely fun in my opinion, they should be focused on fun and they should be developed around that. Above all I just don't think the ps4 has the capability to make games like this fun in the first place. No 60 fps minimum, not able to have too many enemies on screen (cant display a realistic amount of mongols without frying the ps4's cpu) not enough graphics memory to make everything look great instead of passable which in turn doesnt allow developers to make big open world rpgs like this work because they can't add big towns with lots of people, cant add loads of enemies, can't add enough graphics effects, can't add enough enemy and people types, can't do the facial animations right (this may just be a developer laziness or lack of development issue) and they can't make any of this look good on a ps4. But in the end I guess its just not my cup of tea!
