Brain Junk

Really good, but sorta funny. I don't know if the funny part was intentional, but some points in the film just made me chuckle. This movie definitely remade the slasher genre into something better. It was really pretty genius, because the murderer is JUST SOME GUY. Sort of like a ruder and more violent Scooby-Doo. You can tell it's "just some guy" when he trips over stuff, or misses his target with the knife he always holds and falls into a pile of clothes or something. 8.5/10

I'm fourteen years old and watched this for the very first time recently. I've been trying to get into classic horror like Nosferatu, Dracula, Psycho, etc. I saw this with my dad. I've seen people online say that this film was way too "simple", and I completely disagree. About halfway through the film I thought "well, what was the point in that? Or that?" But as the credits started to roll my jaw dropped. It all hits you so fast, everything seems to link together and it makes you go "oh! That's why that happened!" or "that's why that was there!" Definitely one of my new favourite horror films. Just a shame that most kids my age only like horror films like Saw, IT, and The Babadook. 7.5/10 Edit: Forgot to mention that this was a sort of slasher movie. Slashers are slightly different to regular horror movies. People that think they're horror fans but are just kids that have seen IT and IT 2 will say things like "it's boring, everyone just dies". (Actual thing I heard someone say about this movie). So don't go jumping to conclusions before you haven't even seen something like Psycho. Or this!!

This movie absolutely astonished me. It is quite a long movie based on the well-known DC villain 'Joker'. However, it is nowhere near a "comic book style movie". It shows how everyone treats Joker in a negative manner and how that starts his descent into madness. Joaquin Phoenix, the actor of Arthur Fleck/Joker, was also one of the best parts of this film. His acting was perfect, the body language, the emotion, the facial expression, everything. He nailed it. Pretty sure he got an Oscar for it, too. I definitely would NOT recommend letting someone under the age of around thirteen watch Joker, but not only because of the very realistic gore, but mostly because younger kids will probably come out of watching the movie with the wrong interpretations. It involves a lot about mental illness, which can also come under the somewhat positive message/s behind the movie. 10/10.
