A must watch classic. This movie is a proof that one doesn’t need an extraordinary story or pan India concept to make nice gripping movie. A simple script with its heart at the right place backed by amazing characterisation can do wonders.
Karthik has done a great job playing a village guy character. As he has been doing these kind of roles with conviction, he had totally killed it in this movie. Justifying the aura, kindness and quirkiness which the character requires. But the stand out here has to be Arvind Swamy. Arul’s character goes through a lot of complex emotions and Arvind has nailed it to perfection. It’s so refreshing to see a veteran actor try new characters and make you wonder what else can he do? A very under used actor for sure.
Meiyazhagan is a rare gem which takes you on an amazing ride filled with emotions, tears, happiness, family sentiments, values and all this while maintaining a smile on your face. If I have to summarise this movie in a single word, then it’s HAPPINESS.
