I've waited nearly 20 years to hear a solo album from Hietala, and clearly the wait was worth it. This album absolutely rocked my world. I couldn't have imagined the broad range of eclectic instrumental and vocal choices. The key changes and use of synth against heavy guitar create haunting tones in songs, while Death March for Freedom, my new favorite song, just rocks your socks off. What absolutely blew my mind, is how incredible Hietala is at writing and performing lyrics in both Finnish and English. I hope sincerely this is the beginning of more great things to come from Marko Hietala in the future.
