Although the story line and characters are mildly engaging, the series is fraught with historical inaccuracies.

One of the worst war movies I have ever seen. I vaguely remember seeing it as a teenager in 1965 but did not realize then how bad it was. The only memorable scene was the young tank commanders singing "Panzerlied," and I watch that bit often on YouTube. I watched it again this week. After 30 years in the Army as a field artilleryman with 13 years overseas including a combat tour in Vietnam followed by 13 years as a high school history teacher, I strongly feel that the movie discredits our soldiers who served during WWII including my father-in-law who fought at the Battle of the Bulge. With the possible exception of Henry Fonda, none of the big name stars gave credible performances

Park your brain at the door and just enjoy the series. With all the "adult" leadership killed in the opening minutes of the first episode, the junior varsity is suddenly thrust into unexpected positions of responsibility. The dialogue reflects this lower level of maturity. The channel is Syfi - science fiction not a class on physics. So, expect some less than accurate scientific situations. As a white man who grew up in the South, I appreciate the diversity and, as a conservative, have not noticed a "woke" agenda as have others. I have found it to be a welcome, mindless relief that helps take my mind off various health challenges - specifically Parkinson's due to exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam.
