Space Jam a new legacy was not a good film. The entire film had awful pacing, that really only needed to run half an hour less. That being said the film did have its great moments, the Looney Tunes as usual stole the show, and seeing some cameos towards the end did ring a smile. With expressive and fluid colorful animation both 2D and 3D, especially with traditional animation being highly scarce in the west. But that just show's how wooden and boring LeBron James' acting and his family subplot are. I just couldn't engage with the opening moments of the film which lead to how I felt with the convoluted story. What gave stakes to the original film ( as little sense as it made, yet it was pure joy) is that it was the Looney Tunes that needed Michael Jordan's help to win a basketball game or else they would be extorted in the a theme park. With LeBron James' son as a subplot it takes the inclusion of the looney tunes from mandatory to why are they even here? And of course the entire film just felt like a giant Warner Bros commercial that was more interested in showing their film portfolio than telling a story.
