I thought id do a genuinely honest review after now reaching over 800hours playtime.
This is my genuine opinion whilst I do disagree with some other reviews on here both good and bad, I don't want to sway anyone's decision when buying this game. If you don't want to read all of this review I will leave a in brief at the bottom.
Q. How Difficult is Tarkov?
A. Very, Although it is a very hard game and yes I guarantee you will hate the first 10+ raids once past this point this game will hit you with an addiction worse than crack. If you genuinely put the time in and learn you will definitely make progress.
Q. Are the Graphics Good?
A. There are some slight changes I would personally make but overall you definitely have to give credit. This can easily be backed by watching any Hight quality yt video on tarkov
Q. What about the in game music?
A. Ive been playing this game since 2018 and the music is still nostalgia to this day. It isn't for some people but can easily be turned off if needs be.
Q. What's the overall game difficulty?
A. Without a doubt the hardest game I have ever played (worse than dark souls) overtime this difficultly will reduce, only if you put the time in.
Q. Are there any bugs as its a game in Closed Beta.
A. This is difficult to review as I personally believe everybody experiences bugs at a different rate in this game. Yes there are bugs in this game, the same as a lot of games in the beta stage, but there are only a very minor few that are game breaking. You can read up more on the latest bugs however they are usually patched faily quickly. You can check on reddit also for the latest bugs as there always seems to be someone complaining.
Q. What is the storyline like?
A. There isn't a story as such, there are brief backgrounds of characters and traders and a very extensive quest line which with each quest provides some kind of storyline I guess. You definitely dont play this game for a storyline though.
Q. How long is the game?
This depends how long you play, but I would not recommend buying if you only have 1 or 2 hours a week to spare, as you will never progress. In game raids can take anywhere from 1 minutes up until 50 minutes.
Q. Is the price worth the game?
A. I originally bought the standard edition of the game back in October 2018, by October 2019 I purchased the EOD edition which whilst at a hefty cost I believe was worth it. The increased inventory does help early game as you will want to horde everything you get your hands on. Whilst i have seen people saying that you cant progress in this game without the EOD as you always run out of space. I disagree with this as cases and other means of storage can be purchased with in game currency in order to increase room. If you think the cost is to expensive there are fairly regular sales usually around public holidays or end of wipes.
In brief:
Dont purchase this if you've only seen one video from someone on YT or Twitch playing as they have thousands of hours and experience. Do more research first please
VERY CHALLENGING GAME
Price is fair for the Standard edition, cant say the same for the others.
You will hate your first few raids without a doubt as it will very likely be a new playstyle for you.
The quests are a fun addition
Best played in groups as by yourself can downright terrifying sometimes.
