AN ODD GEM. Sure it is another "have to save Christmas" story, and there can be no doubt the non believers are causing havoc in town.. Shelly Long delivers her usual quirkiness as she struggles to beleive and Dick Van Patten provides a solid performance as the great Elf in despair in his yearly struggle to deliver the toys to the good. Christmas is saved of course and a scrooge or two is humilated. And we are entertained again. You think this would get old or the projects would dry up , yet on it continues because we all love a winner, and we want them to be nice. OOPS if saving Christmas requires a spoiler alert ( doubt IT ) I forgot to post it ahead.
