I came to this book as a fan of Jordan Peterson, having enjoyed many of the podcasts, YouTube videos, interviews etc However, whilst there is much in the book that makes sense and that resonates with me - which I am sure I can utilise going forward - the book itself, I find it to be incohesive (whilst acknowledging these are 12 separate rules), dense and somewhat rambling. It would have benefited from being a lot more succinct in my opinion, as I think much of the powerful and useful insights are somewhat lost.
In fact, much of the useful insights, if not all, I have already garnered from listening and watching other, free, content online. Perhaps I would have enjoyed the book more if I had come to it with no prior knowledge, perhaps not.
Still a fan, but maybe I’ve personally taken whatever insights that are useful to me from JBP’s works, and need to move on and listen to new voices.
