This game, like all others, takes a lot of getting-used-to. Nothing is pausable and you need food and water over time. Not a huge deal but the food and water was optional in all other fallouts. The exploration aspect of this game is 9/10. Plenty if enemies everywhere. I’ve reached level 40 in about 50 hours of gameplay. One thing I do like is that you will never have a corrupted save or lose progress because EVERYTHING is registered WHEN you do it. I’ve tested this, picking up an item and immediately closing the game. Upon loading back in I would have the item I picked up. Downside is: there’s a delay. For every shot you take, every grenade you throw there’s probably a .25 second delay. It’s nothing too crazy but very often I will kill an enemy and they’ll still get a shot off on me or hit me before they actually die. Quests are buggy sometimes and the Atomic Shop is useless. Like you’ll spend forever saving up these points to spend and nothing in the atomic shop is worthy of buying except repair kits. The content in the atomic shop needs to go up in quality, drastically. 500 points for ONE gun camo? Really? As of now there is some kind of hunter’s theme and it’s pretty expensive, all it really offers is mounted creatures’ heads/decorations and a hunting outfit. Very disappointing. All in all this is an excellent game, it’s the first of it’s kind and from what I know this game has come a long way since launch. I got 76 through game pass but I would easily pay about $25 for it.
Edit: I had a bounty on my head for 10 caps because I accidentally destroyed someone’s workshop materials. A player about 100 levels higher than me killed me with one melee hit while I was wearing full power armor. Lost all of my materials (including about 12 screws), take from that what you will. This is why fallout shouldn’t have pvp features. I could not find an option to pay the bounty and I literally could do nothing except run or change lobbies. Ridiculous.
