The world doesn't seem real. I could not stand the animation. The doodles look amazing when it's some kid drawing them, but not in 3d. I actually had nightmares because of how creepy front facing Manny was. The animation gives off this extremely creepy vibe. Like, these people who look like clay in a real world. It may have worked if it were 2d, however 3d is cheaper and easier and Disney hates 2d for some reason. The reason the 2010 movie was good is because it actually showed the life of this kid, not just everybody turned into the kids drawings. I didn't pay too much attention to most people voice acting, but Manny and Susan sounded too real which made no sense because those characters look like toys. I was upset by it being 58 minutes but soon found out why, they missed out on all of the little things that made the book so great. There were so many little details that made the world look real. This only really kept the main plot, and so much more in life goes on than that. It looks like a nice world and then without humans and with some toys. This doesn't seem like the books because the books seemed real and so did the characters. We don't really get to learn too much about the characters other than Greg and Rowley. If they wanted to animate it they should have kept it 2d at least, try to make it look like a kids drawings again, and had more time so they could add more and make the world feel like a real world.
