It was something fresh, something that hasn't been done before. It wasn't just the same old highschool romance. It was something entirely different, and I absolutely loved it.
For starters, the depiction of the characters was amazing. It just felt like I knew the characters as real people by the end of the movie. That's always a good sign.
I also loved the story. On the surface, it's just another romantic tale, but there is so much different about it. The girl is suffering from trauma caused due to the death of the love of her life due to a car accident that she believes was her fault. I mean, that is just something entirely new. The boy, on the other hand, was an ordinary sweet kid(Think like Otis from Sex Ed).
I also liked how the story panned out. I didn't feel elongated or exaggerated. It moved at a perfect pace.
The filmmaking was very nice. The voiceovers and B-roll felt like a breath of fresh air.
The ending was perfect. It showed that not everything goes to plan in real life. I think that was the essence of the movie basically. Something which is realistic and fresh at the same time.
9/10.
