There's no suspense, no mystery, no thrill, no character development and there's barely even a story. The first half is rape porn and the second half is torture porn.

My disappointment has nothing to do with Hong Kong or Xinjiang. The script was dull; the relationships between characters felt hollow; the music uninspiring; the characters unexciting and derivative; and the acting was often times awkward and amateurish, and consistently stiff and unamusing.

I loved it! But the final trial felt a bit too melodramatic and unrealistic, and I felt Kim Hyang-gi broke her character in the latter 1/4 of the film. Jung Woo-sung was excellent all throughout the film. Excellent acting!
