I barely made it through 30 min. The acting, the story, the set design, and everything in between, makes this unbearable to watch. The character development is shallow at best, and it is all so predictable. Just out of curiosity, I decided to try out the Wheel of Time series on Prime to see if it was any better, and it almost felt like I was watching the same show. The writers of these series are killing the fantasy genre and cheapening it to a comical level. It’s really unfortunate.

So disappointed in this show, not because I don’t think it’s interesting or insightful but because the show seems to be the host’s platform to just complain about the evils of white people. Rather than using his platform to educate on origins of food and shed light in different cultures, he makes it his prerogative to constantly lead the conversation back to attacking a certain racial group. Why does the conversation always have to lead there…I think what did it in for me was when he sat at a table with dry aged steaks asking his guests whether steak from Costco diminishes their work. Not everyone can afford steak that’s been sitting in dried lavender nor is that sustainable in terms of feeding the wider populace. How very privileged the host must be to even be able to complain about something like that.
